The Cougar softball team score 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to defeat Central Valley 5-4. The Cougars left 10 runners on base through the first 6 innings. Sophomore Jaiden Patterson drove in the first run in the 7th with a double. Freshman Maddie Syka followed with an RBI single. Senior Alexis Montgomery had a key 2 out single to keep the inning alive and Senior Ashley Dickton provided the BIG hit with a 2 out double to complete the walkoff victory. Ashley Dickton went 4-4 with 2 RBI. Junior Emma Muir was also 4-4 with an RBI. Jaiden Patterson was 3-4 with an RBI and Senior Kelsey Stoner went 2-4 for the Cougars. Freshman pitcher Raina Johnson went the distance and earned the win. She also took a line drive off her knee and was completely all guts to finish the game. The Cougars now 3-3 in section play and 4-4 overall. They continue section play tomorrow with a home game against Ambridge.
