Blackhawk Cougars Beats Central Valley Behind Turconi’s No-Hitter
Mike Turconi was brilliant on the mound on Friday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Blackhawk past Central Valley 11-0.
Andrew Mcclymonds led the Cougars to victory by driving in four runs. He went 2-for-3 at the plate. Mcclymonds drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a fielder’s choice in the third.
Blackhawk opened up scoring in the first inning, when Mcclymonds singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
The Cougars notched five runs in the third inning. Blackhawk put the pressure on, lead by a single by Jarrett Wright, a fielder’s choice by Mcclymonds, and a double by Marco Borello.
Turconi was the winning pitcher for Blackhawk. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
The Cougars had nine hits in the game. Mcclymonds, Borello, Wright, and Tyler Robinson all had multiple hits for Blackhawk. Robinson, Wright, Borello, and Mcclymonds each managed two hits to lead the Cougars.
